ALL RISKS SUCCESS STORY: All Risks was able to write a hard-to-place independent trucking contractor risk that would typically have been written on a surplus lines basis.
A transportation specialty company needed to secure coverage for their contract driver groups. The retail agent was familiar with Occupational Accident coverage, however, they found it difficult to find placement for their 1099 drivers that did not own or lease their own equipment.
THE ALL RISKS SOLUTION:
Many admitted markets will not quote accounts that are not primarily owner-operators. All Risks has access to an admitted market that will quote tough-to-place classes, such as contract drivers. We have the ability to write Occupational Accident for independent trucking contractors that are NOT owner-operators. These are drivers that either drive equipment owned by the motor carrier or by another independent contractor (fleet owner) that owns trucks and uses 1099 drivers (contract drivers) to drive them.
An Occupational Accident policy was written to extend Medical, Death and Dismemberment, Disability and Wage Replacement to their independent contractors at competitive monthly pricing and no deductible. A supporting Contingent Liability policy afforded the business owner protection in the event the contractor opted to claim Workers’ Compensation benefits. Both the independent contractor and the business owner have peace of mind that they are protected.
